PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve usability of the functions provided by an electronic device by systematically displaying and using GUI. SOLUTION: The functions provided by the electronic device are classified by category. A group of icons according to the category are displayed in a mutually horizontal direction on a category display region 610. Icons of functions, corresponding to the category intended for an operation in the category display region 610 and their names, are displayed in a mutually vertical direction in a function display region 620. A function explanation 699 of a function intended for selection in the function display region 620 is displayed in a function explanation display region 690. When a left button or a right button on the electronic device is depressed, the group of the icons in a category display region 610 is shifted leftward or rightward.
