PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette type medium storage vessel having a shutter structure for preventing a card other than a card at the lowest position from entering a clearance between a bottom face and a reference plate. SOLUTION: This cassette type medium storage vessel 25 has a medium storage part 250 for storing card-like recording mediums 2 by stacking them, a first reference plate 231 constituting a part of a side face of the medium storage part, a second reference plate 232 constituting the bottom face of the medium storage part, a gate part 23 provided with a clearance for letting the medium 2a at the lowest position pass through it, and a shutter 24 provided in parallel with the first reference plate and blocking the clearance when the cassette type medium storage vessel 25 is attached and detached to/from a medium paying-out mechanism. This cassette type medium storage vessel 25 is arranged on the medium paying-out mechanism for paying out the medium 2a at the lowest position among the stacked mediums 2. The first reference plate has a cut-in part 266 for allowing a tip 247 of the shutter to advance, and the tip of the shutter advancing into the cut-in part is curved or bent so that it becomes substantially flush with a face on a medium storage part side of the first reference plate.
