The invention relates to a method for synthesising alcohol from a synthesis gas produced from a natural gas, heavy hydrocarbons or carbons consisting in carrying out at least one aldehyde compound or CO hydrogenation reaction, wherein a residual gas comprising at least one type of hydrogen and CO is produced and isolated, in submitting the residual gas to a separation process for producing at least one gas flow substantially consisting of hydrogen and CO and in recycling said gas flow towards a synthesis process reactor for consuming the synthesis gas.
