Provided is an image processing device for realizing a synthetic image of no abnormal feel and suppressing the deterioration of the image quality at a block encoding time, by synthesizing an image into a 3D-image while considering the parallax of the 3D-image. The image processing device (1) inputs a left-eye image obtained from a viewpoint corresponding to the left eye and a right-eye image from the right eye. On the basis of the parallax information from parallax detecting means (2) and the positional information from position determining means (5), transparency determining means (3) determines the transparency of an object to be synthesized into the left-eye image and the right-eye image. Alternatively, adjusting means (32) determines the synthetic position of the object to match the boundary of an encoding block, thereby to synthesize the left-eye image and the right-eye image with the object.
