A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to provide a black matrix, a black matrix barrier, and a color filter, thereby easily forming the black matrix and the black matrix barrier while effectively forming color filter. A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display apparatus comprises the following units: a black matrix(207), which is formed in a transparent insulation substrate, for defining a pixel area; a black matrix barrier(301-307) which is formed of transparent photoconductive materials in the black matrix; and a color filter(401-406) which is formed in the pixel area. The black matrix is formed of a black resin capable of absorbing light. The thickness of the black matrix is 1.0 -1.5mum. The thickness of the black matrix barrier is 0.5 -1.0mum.
