摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a tomographic image of a good quality to be formed even when the rotation cycle of a probe and the signal acquiring cycle of a line unit are not synchronized in an image diagnostic system. SOLUTION: The probe which repeats the transmission/receipt of a signal is made to perform a radial scanning, and a reflective signal of the line unit in a body cavity is acquired by the probe, and the tomographic image in the body cavity is formed/displayed by this image diagnostic system. The image diagnostic system is equipped with a synchronizing signal forming section 601, a synchronizing signal selecting section 603, and an A/D converter 224. In this case, the synchronizing signal forming section 601 forms the synchronizing signal which is synchronized with the acquisition cycle of the line unit of the signal, and has a higher frequency than an output pulse being output in response to the rotating angle of the probe during the radial scanning. The synchronizing signal selecting section 603 receives the output pulse, and simultaneously, selects and outputs the synchronizing signal having been received first after receiving the output pulse. The A/D converter 224 converts the reflective signal into digital data in response to the input of the synchronizing signal which has been selected by the synchronizing signal selecting section 603.
