PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: in offset correction making a light beam a quenching state, reproducing operation or recording operation is required to stop temporarily, then a transfer rate of reproducing or recording is reduced; in the offset correction performed only when accumulation quantity of reading data on an optical disk for an information storing buffer is large, when reading performance of information is low, execution frequency of the offset correction is reduced and a time required for offset correction is required to be added when an information storing buffer is selected. SOLUTION: Offset measurement which does not depend on recording and reproducing performance is performed securing stability of a focal point control of an optical beam by performing offset correction in a state in which the optical beam is emitted and by performing offset correction only when control is in a stabilized state.
