PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generator having high energy efficiency, and desirably applied to use exhaust heat of a heat engine. SOLUTION: This steam generator 22 has a supply source 130 of a medium, heating parts 121 and 122 decompressing and boiling the medium by heat generated by the heat engine 12, and a compressor 116 compressing the medium heated by the heating parts 121 and 122.
