PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a binary porous silica which improves its productivity and reduces the amount of washing waste liquid generated from the manufacturing process, and by which a high purity binary porous silica can be obtained. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a binary porous silica is characterized by gelling a sol solution containing an alkali silicate aqueous solution, a water soluble organic compound and an acid at a transitional state of phase separation in the sol solution, then adding a washing liquid to the resultant wet gel, and washing the wet gel by filtering it under pressure or reduced pressure.
