The invention relates to novel phosphocreatine complexes useful for the treatment of diseases of the central nervous system, having the following general formula (I): wherein M is a metal, preferably Mg, and An^- is an organic or inorganic anion. The pharmaceutically acceptable salts of such complexes also fall within the scope of the invention.
