The method involves checking the existence of transponders e.g. radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, that are arranged at or in objects using a scanner. The objects are arranged in the interior of a vehicle (1). Information is output based on the existence or absence of the objects. The information is output in the form of a message at a display and in the form of acoustic or optical alarms. An independent claim is also included for a monitoring arrangement for checking the existence and/or absence of objects in a surrounding area e.g. interior of a vehicle.
