<p>A laundry tumble drier has a variable speed motor powering a drum that rotates within an outer case and a laundry load detector. The tumble drier further has a control unit that regulates the drum speed of rotation in accordance with the load detected. The tumble drier has a variable speed brushless alternating current motor with a drive belt to the drum. The drum load is measured by an Elect rod sensor that measures the electrical resistance of the laundry load between two electrodes to determine by how much the load has dried.
