<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode having excellent charge and discharge cycle characteristics during high-load charging. <P>SOLUTION: This negative electrode is composed of a negative electrode collector and a negative electrode active material layer, and the negative electrode active material layer is formed by a carbon material capable of occluding and discharging lithium.
