PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely perform addition of desired character information and editing of character information to picked-up images. SOLUTION: Related character information of an image pickup place and image pickup conditions or the like for picked-up still images can be input and stored by kana characters using a cross button 8G in a camera 100, and the stored still image and related character information are sent to the cradle 200. Since the editing of the sent still image and the processing of converting the kana characters to kanji characters are executed in the cradle 200 and processing results are returned to the camera 100, the still image to which the related information containing the kanji characters is added can be obtained even when a kana/kanji conversion function is not provided to the camera 100.
