PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element which has the same function as selective use of a plurality of filters, needs a small occupying space, has a simple structure and is advantageous to miniaturization and cost reduction, and to provide an imaging apparatus furnished with the optical element. SOLUTION: In the imaging apparatus, the positions at which an electric potential E is applied on respective electrode members 38 of a second electrode 20 of the optical element 10 are successively changeable in a peripheral direction, thus first liquid 14 drops move in the peripheral direction, therefore the respective first liquid drops 14 are successively moved into an adjustment room 32. The optical actions given to the light L which passes through the adjustment room 32 are selectively switched, in other words, the filters are switched in a revolver fashion.
