摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the slip of a one way clutch in a start rotating force transmitting mechanism of an internal combustion engine, and to continue smooth operation of the internal combustion engine when the slip occurs. SOLUTION: Ring gear rotational frequency NRG is compared to engine speed NE at start of the engine (S106). In the case of NE<NRG (Yes in S106), it is easily detected that the one way clutch is slipped (S108). When the slip is detected, since warning is output (S110), this enables a driver to recognize an abnormality of the one way clutch and promptly take measures against the abnormality. In addition, when the slip of the one way clutch is detected, there is a possibility that automatic restart of the internal combustion engine cannot be promptly performed by economy running control. The stop of the internal combustion engine by next economy running control is not executed thereby.
