PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which, in order to form a crowning on a tooth surface when manufacturing a gear by cold forging, the structure of a die divided into an upper part and a lower part and forming a draft for each of them can be considered; however, due to overlapping of the parting line with the center line in the thickness direction of the tooth surface, a step for removing the parting line becomes necessary, and it has been difficult to reduce the man-hours and the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This gear is formed by cold forging. A tooth of the gear has a thickness which becomes gradually thinner from a one end side toward the other end side in the gear thickness direction.
