PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a premixed compressed self-ignition type gasoline internal combustion engine for stably performing compressed self-ignition combustion, by reducing a load of a control system. SOLUTION: This premixed compressed self-ignition type gasoline internal combustion engine has a fuel injection valve 15 arranged in the substantial center of a combustion chamber 40 and injecting fuel, an intake air flow control valve 37 promoting an intake air flow by narrowing an intake air flow passage 12 communicating with the combustion chamber, and a control means 31 allowing an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber to perform compressed self-ignition, by controlling driving of the fuel injection valve 15 so as to inject the whole quantity of a request fuel injection quantity at once in a predetermined range up to the compression top dead center from the latter period of a compression stroke of the engine, and controlling so that the intake air flow control valve 37 occupies a position for promoting the intake air flow.
