Inkjet Printhead For Minimizing Required Ink Drop Momentum

An inkjet printhead assembly includes a substrate that defines a plurality of ink inlet passages. Drive circuitry is arranged on the substrate. A plurality of nozzle chamber structures is arranged on the substrate and defines nozzle chambers in fluid communication with respective ink inlet passages and ink ejection ports in fluid communication with respective nozzle chambers. A heater element is arranged in each nozzle chamber to span the nozzle chamber and is connected to the drive circuitry to heat ink in the nozzle chamber received from the ink inlet passage. The heater elements are configured and positioned to minimize a momentum necessary for ink drops resulting from heating of the heater elements to overcome a surface tension of the ink during ejection from the ink ejection ports.
