A SIDE BAFFLE FOR A LOUDSPEAKER

A side baffle (50) for a loudspeaker for enhancing the output response of the loudspeaker relative to a particular environment in which the loudspeaker is located. The side baffle is made up of preferably three baffle sections (52, 54, 56) which are pivotally (78-66) (86-72) or telescopically mounted together whereby the baffle sections are relatively adjustable to vary the width and/or angle and/or curvature of the side baffle. The baffle sections may be formed from extruded sections and the inner baffle section may be formed with a channel (58) for clipping onto a side edge of the loudspeaker. The baffle sections (52, 54, 56) may be adjusted for the side baffle (50) to control low frequency cut-off, the effect of backwave, room modes or dispersion of the acoustic output sound waves of a loudspeaker.
