PRINTER AND PRINTING METHOD

The object of the invention is to prevent a line extending in the scan direction of the head at the connection part between two set of print data on an image to be printed. The print data including information on a large number of dots is supplied to the print head where dot-forming elements are arranged in the sub-scanning direction. The print head and a printing medium are moved relatively to each other in the main scanning direction and in the sub-scanning direction, and an image is printed on the surface of the printing medium. The print data supplied each main scanning of the print head includes data to form a deformed data part of, for example, wavy projected/recessed shape along the connection part of the edges in the sub-screening direction in such a way that dots are not continuously arranged in the main scanning direction of the print head. The print data is so printed that the projected/recessed shape of the connection part of a set of print data is fitted into the projected/recessed shape of the connection part of another set of print data adjacent to the former set of the print data.
