<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive assisting method and a drive assisting device capable of displaying pictures of good image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A drive assisting unit 2 comprises an image processor 20 setting a standard position of a vehicle, and an image data input portion 16 inputting image data from a camera 35 provided on the vehicle. The image processor 20 rotation-processes the image data and produces recording data on the basis of a relative position to the standard position of the vehicle at shooting. The produced recording image data is accumulated in a corresponding pixel area of a composing memory area 19.
