PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAD device and a CAD method for simplifying the shape of an object. SOLUTION: The CAD device comprises a display part for displaying an object shape; shape simplification data inputted by an external operation based on expression of the display part; a means for dividing a rectangular parallelepiped space including the object into a block group of a uniform size based on the shape simplification data; a means for detecting a solid on a sketch surface of the block group; and a means for composing solids detected on the orthogonal three-directional sketch surfaces.
