PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dropping device and a dropping method for spacer beads that prevent or suppress display unevenness, and also to provide a substrate for a display panel, and the display panel. SOLUTION: The dropping device is equipped with: a plurality of dropping nozzles for dropping the liquid with which beads are mixed; a first control means of keeping dropping amounts of some of the plurality of dropping nozzles uniformly constant; and a second control means of uniformly varying dropping amounts of the dropping nozzles other than the nozzles out of the plurality of dropping nozzles. The dropping nozzles whose dropping amounts are controlled by the first control means, and the dropping nozzles which are controlled by the second control means, are periodically arrayed crossing each other in the direction of relative movements of the substrate for the display panel and the plurality of dropping nozzles.
