PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 4,4'-butylidenebis(6-tert-buthyl-3-methylphenol) improved in hue. SOLUTION: The production method comprises reacting 6-tert-butyl-3-methylphenol with n-butyl aldehyde in the presence of N,N-diethylhydroxylamine.
