PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side surface area of an automobile capable of certainly absorbing side surface collision force or side surface collision energy by a simple and inexpensive method. SOLUTION: The side surface area of the automobile is provided with at least two hollow chambers (2, 3, 4) provided so as to be made to forward/rearward each other in an applying direction of the side surface collision force; and at least one fixing portion (14) for mounting the deformation member (1) to a belonging door shell portion (12) of the automobile. An axial extension part of the hollow chamber is formed approximately vertically relative to the applying direction of the side surface collision force respectively, thereby, a problem is solved.
