<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for processing a digital image for coercing such a hard constraint as a logic based constraint originated from a context cue and user feedback. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes a step of performing access to element data representing a plurality of elements belonging to a plurality of digital images; a step of performing a similarity analysis between the elements from the plurality of elements to obtain interrelation data results relating to the elements; and a step of performing clustering of the plurality of elements, and the step of performing clustering includes a step of incorporating in the interrelation data results at least one hard constraint relating to elements from the plurality of elements to obtain constrained interrelation data results, a step of performing a spectral analysis to obtain unique vector results from the constrained interrelation data results, and a step of performing discretization of the unique vector results by using constrained clustering with a criterion to enforce at least one hard constraint to obtain clusters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
