<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small braking device which is easy to carry by providing a force amplifying mechanism between a braking spring and a driving part. <P>SOLUTION: This braking device is equipped with a disk 1 for integrally rotating with a rotary body, a pair of friction members (linings 2a, 2b) disposed opposing each other on both sides of the disk 1, the braking spring 10 for pressing the pair of friction members (linings 2a, 2b) against the disk 1, and the driving part (core 7, armature 9, coil 11) acting to separate the pair of friction members (linings 2a and 2b) from the disk 1.
