<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel double row rolling bearing device manufacturing method for surely suppressing the plastic deformation of the end of a hub shaft inward to the radial direction when bending and deforming the end of the hub shaft and caulking a double row rolling bearing thereto. <P>SOLUTION: The double row rolling bearing device manufacturing method comprises a step of preparing a collet chuck 3 having split members 3c whose diameters can be each freely enlarged and shrunk and a tapered cone 4 for enlarging or shrinking the diameter of each split member 3c, and a step of shrinking the diameter of the collet chuck 3 to be inserted into a through-hole 1b before caulking the double row rolling bearing 2 to the hub shaft 1, of enlarging the diameter of the collet chuck 3 for each split member 3c to abut on the cylindrical end of the hub shaft 1 when caulking it, to suppress the plastic deformation of the end inward to the radial direction, and of shrinking the diameter of the collet chuck 3 to be removed from the hub shaft 1 after caulking it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
