PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp which prevents a light-emitting tube from dropping, even if a glass tube of the light-emitting tube breaks in a sliced manner, thereby ensuring safety. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp has the spiral light-emitting tube 10 so structured as to have a spiral discharge path and a substantially planar emission surface. An electrode lead wire 14a supporting a filament coil electrode 13a is sealed in the end 11a of the light-emitting tube 10, and the outer surface of the end 11a of the light-emitting tube 10 is sheathed with a sheathing film 50a so as to cover the area where the filament coil electrode 13a is disposed.
