PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flaw detection method capable of precisely judging the presence of the crack of an object even if the density of the object is varied, and to provide a flaw detection device. SOLUTION: The flaw detection device 1 includes a density calculation part 51c for calculating the density of a sintered product 10, an impact apply device 2 for applying an impact to the sintered product 10, an impact sound detector 4 for detecting the sonic wave emitted from the sintered product 10 to which the impact is applied by the impact apply device 2 and a crack decision part 51d for deciding the presence of the crack of the sintered product 10 on the basis of the density of the sintered product 10 calculated by the density calculation part 51c, the frequency characteristics of the sonic wave detected by the impact sound detector 4 and the relation between the preset density of the sintered product 10 and the frequency characteristics of the sonic wave.
