It is intended to provide a microneedle device having a coating which is efficaciously usable even for a compound having a low molecular activity and allows the sustention of the drug effect over a long period of time, and a transdermal administration device provided with microneedles. A microneedle device (5) having a plural number of microneedles (6), with which the skin can be punctured, on a microneedle board (8), wherein the microneedles (6) and/or the microneedle board (8) are partly or entirely coated in the state where a coating base containing polyvinyl alcohol tightly sticks thereto. It is preferable that the polyvinyl alcohol has a degree of saponification of 94.5 mol% or higher. The coating base can contain a drug therein.
