<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter wherein color characteristics in the center part of a display region and in the inner peripheral part of a peripheral edge part are equal to each other in the color filter formed by utilizing flow-in of a colored material layer by a level difference of a transparent material layer, and also to provide a transflective liquid crystal display showing uniform display characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter substrate for a transflective liquid crystal display device is constituted such that pixels which have a plurality of colors and each of which has first and second regions are formed in a display region on a transparent substrate, a frame layer having light shielding properties is formed in a non-display region enclosing the display region, the transparent material layer and the colored material layer are layered on the transparent substrate in the second region, and the transparent material layer is layered on the frame layer. The substrate has a region where the colored material layer is not provided partially or a region where the thickness of the colored material layer is ≤80% as compared with that of the other part in the second region within 800 μm from the inner peripheral part of the peripheral edge part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
