<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antidiarrhea composition originated from natural foods free from adverse reaction, especially effective to hypersecretive diarrhea which predominates in diarrhea, and to provide an antidiarrhea pharmaceutical composition and a foodstuff including the antidiarrhea composition and to provide a method for prophylaxis of the diarrhea using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the composition ameliorating diarrhea comprising at least one of menthol or menthone in an amount sufficient to effect on the gastrointestinal tract of a living body ingesting the same, and characterized by suppressing Cl<SP>-</SP>secretion of the gastrointestinal tract.
