<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive positioning means that has no physical impact onto an optical fiber end face and that uniquely decides a coordinate in the axial direction, in fixedly positioning an optical fiber end part. <P>SOLUTION: In the middle of the bare part 3 of an optical fiber end part, there is provided a fine diameter part 4 which is formed by etching the outer circumference of a clad. In a fixed substrate 10 on which the fine diameter part is to be fixed, there are installed a groove 11 in which the bare part 3 is housed and a projected part 12 which is formed inside the groove 11 so as to be fitted to the fine diameter part 4. The optical fiber end part is prevented from moving in either axial directions by being locked to the projected part 12 at two points, namely, at the near side and the far side with respect to the optical fiber end face of the fine diameter part 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
