PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an executing device for executing playback has to be equipped with a high-performance processor, because verification of correctness of information is executed in parallel with the playback of the content, and therefore processing load becomes high during the content playback. SOLUTION: The processing load involved in processing of verification is reduced by using, for the verification, only a predetermined number of encrypted units selected randomly from among a plurality of encrypted units constituting encrypted contents recorded on a DVD. Further, the accuracy of detecting unauthorized content can be improved to some extent by randomly selecting the predetermined number of encrypted units every time the verification is performed.
