PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting device which prevents leakage of a liquid by surely covering ink introduction openings when shipped, transported and stored, and which also enables extraction working to be carried out by a light force. SOLUTION: To four ink introduction openings 63 arranged in a lateral row at the back side of a storage case body 74, a protecting cap means is equipped with a body part where four alluring funnel parts 43 with elastic caps 44 set at tips are arranged side by side. Each alluring funnel part 43 is formed elliptical at an expanded side internal diameter. The protecting cap means is set so that the ellipse overlaps with an external diameter side of a guide rib 69a of an upper end among a plurality of arc-shaped guide ribs 69 of a radius R1 which centers the axis of the ink introduction opening 63 shaped like a cylinder of a slim diameter. When the protecting cap means is extracted, the alluring funnel part 43 becomes a lever to the tip of the guide rib 69a of the upper end, so that the elastic cap 44 can be removed from the ink introduction opening 63 by a greatly light force.
