PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make seizure of a screen inconspicuous, while reducing the power consumption. SOLUTION: In the video signal processor 10, when a blank region detection means 12 detects a blank region E2 in a video signal, a video signal processing means 11a processes the video signal, such that a luminance deteriorated region E3 where the luminance deteriorates gradually from a video image region E1 toward the blank region E2 or from the blank region E2 toward the video image region E1 is interposed between the video image region E1 and the blank region E2.
