PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil unit in which inductance characteristics are enhanced while sustaining the bonding strength when it is mounted on a circuit board. SOLUTION: A core 2 has a winding core 21, and a pair of flanges 23 and 25 formed at the opposite ends of the winding core 21. The flange 23 has an outer end face 233 located on the side opposite to the winding core 21, and a circumferential surface 235 surrounding the periphery of the outer end face 233. The winding 4 is wound around the winding core 21. An electrode film 61 is provided on the outer end face 233 and the circumferential surface 235 of the flange 23 in such a mode as it becomes discontinuous around the circumferential surface 235.
