PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory device capable of more speeding up the error correction of data stored in the semiconductor memory device. SOLUTION: When write data are obtained by processing the error correction with respect to input data, a logical operation is carried out by an EXOR element 110 on the basis of an output result of an output data latch 108 keeping the read data and a result of an inputted array input data DI in a memory core section 300, then by selecting this operation result by a selector 111 to settle it to the write data, the formation of data after operation by a motion immediately after the readout becomes possible in the semiconductor memory device 3, and the operation result can be written into a memory cell block 100 by a next clock since a delivery of data to an external logic circuit is not required.
