PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal ion adsorbent material allowing the formation of a transparent film having a high efficiency of metal extraction by light exposure, and adsorption of metal ions in water. SOLUTION: The photoresponsive metal ion adsorbent material includes a copolymer obtained by copolymerization of a copolymer component including a (meth)acrylic acid ester having a substituted indole ring and an oxygen- or sulfur-containing benzo-heterocyclic ring, a (meth)acrylic acid ester having a hydrophilic group and a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, and a cross-linking agent.
