PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredder capable of enhancing a reduction effect of a load to a motor and a suppression effect of a noise by preventing a plurality of cutter blades from simultaneously biting into an article to be shredded. SOLUTION: The cutters 15a in the respective rows are aligned and mounted to a rotary shaft 14a such that a line L successively connecting approaching distal ends of the blades adjacent to each other draws a helical line on the rotary shaft 14a. A twisted angleθof the helical line relative to an effective shredding width W capable of shredding the article to be shredded by both cutter rows is made to approximately 180°/n when the number of blades 16 in the respective cutters 15a is made to n.
