The unit (1) has a covering material (4), and a plate-shaped closure part (3) that is arranged at an end of the covering material. A retaining unit is provided for supporting the covering material with the closure part at two opposite points at an inner surface of a loading space for a closed loading space condition. The closure part is fixed in a defined, pivoting position in an open loading space condition using a fastener and a locking device. An automatic mechanism is provided for establishing a defined, pivoting position of the closure part, when reaching the open loading space condition.
