The method involves transmitting signals (U1, U2, U3), which are redundant to each other and produced by sensors (S1, S2, S3), in reaction to actuation of a pedal (P) to independent signal processors (SCA, SCB). The signals are processed to pulse wave modulation (PWM) signals (A, B) and transmitted to a receiver for plausibility check. The signals to be processed are adjusted during the plausibility check. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for controlling signal transmissions to an electrical pedal (2) a computer program with a program code for controlling signal transmission to an electrical pedal (3) a computer program product with a program code for controlling signal transmission to an electrical pedal.
