Information on an emergent warning is received to decide whether or not it is in an emergent warning state, on the basis of that information. A display power mode is determined on the basis of the selection of a viewer, in case the warning state is not emergent, but is displayed as it is as the original video information by omitting or modifying a portion of the video information, in the case of the emergent warning state. The power mode is automatically switched to an ultra-low consumption mode, in which the consumed power is reduced. In case a disaster such as an earthquake occur so that the state is to reduce the consumed power, the screen display is automatically lowered in the minimum state capable of acquiring the information, so that the consumed power of the video display can be minimized.
