A method for coloring a lyric subtitle by using a palette table is provided to display variably the color of a lyric image by changing the palette table value in a state that lyric data is maintained as it is, thereby performing lyric subtitle coloring more efficiently. A method for coloring a lyric subtitle by using a palette table comprises the following steps of: temporarily storing lyric data in a volatile memory and perform the signal processing of the subtitle image with color corresponding to a palette table value, and displaying the lyric data(S12,S13); and variably displaying the lyric image by changing the palette table value in a state that the lyric data temporarily stored in the volatile memory is maintained as it is(S15,S17).
