METHOD AND SYSTEM MANAGING PORT INFORMATION OF INTERNET TERMINAL

A method for managing port information of an internet terminal and a system thereof are provided to obtain port information expressing a connection location when the internet terminal makes access to an internet service, and to provide a QoS service and various services based on location by using the port information. A method for managing port information of an internet terminal comprises the following several steps. The internet terminal turns on and gets driven(S2). The internet terminal, which has made access to a network of an ISP(Internet Service Provider), requests a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server to allocate an IP address and gets in a state that it can use the internet service(S4). An edge router checks various information on the internet terminal included in an IP address allocation packet and transfer information on the internet terminal to a control server(S6). The control server stores the transferred information on the internet terminal at a database, and transfers an IP address of a DHCP relay router and an MAC(Medium Access Control) address of the internet terminal to a port analysis server(S8). The port analysis server checks a port information obtaining server matched with the IP address of the DHCP relay router which is transferred by the control server(S10). The port analysis server transfers the information on the internet terminal to the port information obtaining server(S12). The port information obtaining server obtains the port information matched with the MAC address of the internet terminal(S14). The port information obtaining server transfers the obtained port information to the port analysis server. The port analysis server stores the transferred port information at a database.
