The sun follower has a plate-holding frame (4) having associated part for fastening a panel (5) of photovoltaic plates (6). The plate-holding frame has a central cross (4a) in which its crosspieces are articulated with the top ends of the telescopic arms (2). On two opposite sides, the central cross is closed by two bent sides (4b). The photovoltaic plates are organized so that the panel has an outline of rounded corners. The outline can be inscribed in an ellipse and forms two opposite sides, in which photovoltaic plates are arranged at regular intervals descending from center to side ends.
