A system for providing stock information in a mobile communication system and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to accessing easily detailed stock information by using a mobile communication terminal of the user's own. A system for providing stock information in a mobile communication system comprises an SMS(Short Message Service) server(104), a stock information server(112) and an MMS(Multimedia Message Service) server(106). The SMS server(104) receives an SMS message including a stock item code and a special number from a mobile communication terminal, finds a routing target based on the special number, provides the SMS message for the stock information server(112), and transmits an invoke SMS message to the mobile communication terminal at the MMS server's request. The stock information server(112), having a unique special number, extracts stock information matched with the stock item code within the SMS message provided by the SMS server(104). The MMS server(106) receives the stock information and information on an SMS message sender from the stock information server(112), generates URL information which enables a user to access the stock information, requests the SMS server(104) to generate the invoke SMS message by using the URL information and the information on the SMS message sender, and allows the mobile communication terminal to download the stock information if the mobile communication terminal makes access by using the URL information within the invoke SMS message.
