<p>An apparatus for preventing incorrect connection of a multi-system air-conditioner and a method of controlling the same are provided to protect a communication circuit from a power input in case of incorrect connection of a communication terminal and a power terminal between an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. An apparatus for preventing incorrect connection of a multi-system air-conditioner comprises a zero cross detection circuit(110), a communication circuit(112), a first switch(106), and a second switch(108). The zero cross detection circuit is capable of checking if an alternate power is inputted through a power terminal(102) and detecting a zero cross point of the inputted alternate power. The communication circuit processes communication signals inputted through a communication terminal(104). The first switch is disposed on a power line between the power terminal and the zero cross detection circuit, turned on when the communication signal is inputted through the communication terminal by the normal connection between the power terminal and the communication, and allows the alternate power to be applied to the zero cross point detection circuit through the power terminal. The second switch is disposed on a communication line between the communication terminal and the communication circuit, turned on when the communication signal is inputted through the communication terminal by the normal connection between the power terminal and the communication terminal, and allows the communication signal to by inputted to the communication circuit.</p> |
